Hot Work H11 Steel  is a 5% chromium hot work tool steel that is represented by its excellent impact toughness. H11 steel, the American air-cooled hardening hot work die steel, is one of the three most commonly used hot work die steels in the European die casting industry. Good, good cold and hot working performance, good hardenability, thick thermal strength, oxidation resistance, high toughness and wear resistance at medium temperature.

1.Hot Work H11 Steel Characteristic

American air-cooled hardening type hot work die steel, which is one of the three most commonly used hot work die steels in the European die casting industry. Good processing performance, good hardenability, thick thermal strength, oxidation resistance, high toughness and wear resistance at medium temperature. The toughness of this steel is slightly higher than that of H13 steel, so heat treatment is required, and the general application hardness is 50-54HRC. This steel is commonly used in Europe for fixed and movable mold inserts. This steel combines high hardness and high toughness, and meets many requirements of hot work die steel. The main alloy components are chromium, molybdenum and vanadium. Electroslag remelting process to smelt.

2.Hot Work H11 Steel Application

Suitable for high-speed hammer forging dies. Aluminum and magnesium alloy hot forging die, the hardness is 42-50HRC. For ferrous metal forging die, the hardness is 40-50HRC. It is suitable for hot work die steel with high risk of cracking. The die life of this die steel can be 1.5-3 times that of 5CrNiMo steel.

4.Hot Work H11 Steel Craft

Spheroidizing annealing: 860-890℃*3h furnace cooling, 730-750℃*4h isothermal, furnace cooling to below 550℃ and air cooling. Preheating: 600-650℃*2.Oh+ 830-850℃*2.Oh. Quenching: 1000-1030℃*1.0h out of the oven for oil cooling, when the workpiece does not catch fire, take it out for air cooling. Tempering: 530-560℃*2.5h, air-cooled three times
