Introduction of cassava starch:

Cassava roots are very rich in starch and the price of cassava is low. It is widely planted in Africa, South Africa, and some regions in Asia, which can serve as a cash crop. In 2016, global production of cassava root was 277 million tonnes, with Nigeria as the world's largest producer having 21% of the world total. Starch is a nutrient stored in plants, seeds and tubers, such as corn, rice, wheat, potatoes, sweet potatoes and cassava. Starch is the most common carbohydrate in human’s diet. Our task is to extract the starch we need from starch tubers.

Cassava Starch Production Process:

(Raw material: fresh cassava/potato/sweet potato) Dry sieve →Paddle washer→ Cutting machine→ Rasper/crushing machine → Centrifuge sieve→ Fine fiber sieve → Disc separator→ Hydro-cyclone→Vacuum filter/Starch dehydrator machine→Flash dryer/Drying section→Automatic packing machine→ Starch

First, cassava needs to be cleaned. The purpose of cassava cleaning process is to remove the dirt, sand, sediments, weeds and other impurities from cassava. Henan Doing Companymanufactures the machines, such as dry sieve, cassava cleaning machine and paddle washing machine, which are used for cleaning cassava. These machines are easy to operate, running stably, large capacity, energy saving, and low water consumption.

Second, cassava needs to be cut. Cassava cutting machineis used to cut the cassava, which has high running speed, and is low energy consumption, and stable operation. Cutting machine uses blade which is a special design and durable.

Third, cassava crushing is also a necessary process. Cassava rasper is widely used in cassava starch processing plant for crushing materials. Rasperhas simple structure, modern design, high raspering speed, stainless steel structure, and special slot design.

Fourth, centrifuge sieveis used to separate the fiber and starch slurry. Centrifuge sieve is easy to set up, stainless steel structure, low power consumption, high starch extraction rate, and large capacity.

Fifth, the function of fine fiber sieve is similar to centrifuge sieve. It’s starch extraction rate is higher than centrifuge sieve.

Sixth, disc separatoralso has a complete sophisticated system that can separate protein and cell liquid effectively under the centrifugal force. The machine has high rotating speed, high separation rate, lower power, and low water consumption.

Seventh, when hydro-cyclonestation and disc separator are working together, which  will improve the process speed and starch quality in starch processing. The starch milk from centrifugal sieve goes into the 16 stages of refining hydro-cyclone, and fresh water comes into the cyclone from the end of system.

Eighth, vacuum filteror starch dehydrator machine is widely used in the starch dehydration. The machine can make the water content of starch is below 40%. The rotating speed of the machine can be frequently controlled. Dewatering machine uses scraper to discharge, pneumatic adjustment, and the scraper is made of high hardness alloy. Also the machine adopts automatic reciprocating stirrer in order to prevent starch precipitation. Features of vacuum filter include good dehydration effect, stable water content of wet starch,  working without noise, and easy operation.

Ninth, drying section uses flasher dryer or drying sectionwhich is widely used in various kinds of starch drying. After drying of flasher dryer, the water content of starch is below 14%. Features of flasher dryer are stable and easy operation, low energy consumption,  and small footprint.

Finally, the last step is packing. Final starch products would be packaged by Automatic Packing Machine for easy storage.
