Dali Lida Practical Technology Research Institute (DLLD) is a profit making private enterprise based in Yunnan China that manufactures micro hydropower equipment.

With almost 11 years devoted to improving the reliability and stability of its products, DLLD now manufactures 12 types of micro–hydropower generator sets, most with built-in voltage regulators. The capacity of its products ranges from 100 W to 300 KW and are small in size so that they are easy to carry and install. The systems are primarily used for remote off-grid households and villages for lighting, TV and radios, space heating and cooking. The table below shows the different types of the DLLD’s products.

DLLD started to adjust its marketing strategy in 2005 to mainly focus on the exploration of international market. In 2005, 80% of its sales were from international private buyers.

Through several years of involvement, DLLD has accumulated considerable experience and is now recognized as one of the leading micro-hydropower equipment manufacturers, with a recommendation from the China Agriculture Ministry. Now DLLD’s products have been sold in Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan, and Xinjiang and Tibet, and have been exported through an intermediary to South East Asian countries as well as Madagascar, Chile, France, Guinea, Iceland, Netherlands, UK and USA.

In 2006, DLLD worked out a longer-term goal which is to increase its production capacity in a new facility closer to Kunming, and to build its sales network in Western China. This plan would be carried out through establishment of a contractual joint venture between E+Co and DLLD. The “DLLD-E+Co JV” will take up the task of expanding DLLD’s marketing efforts as well as manufacturing DLLD product components and a new line of low-head micro-hydropower equipment. “DLLD Research” will move parts of its operations to the new “E+Co JV” facility in Kunming.
