Nonionic polyacrylamide was synthesized with acrylamide using (NH4)2S2O8 as initiator by the method of CO polymerization in aqueous solution, effects of monomer concentration, dosage of initiating agent, reaction temperature and reaction time on relative molecule IKr mass of the synthetic nonionic polyacrylamide were analyzed.
Product characteristics and main usages:
Due to a certain amount of polarity gene in NPAM’s molecular chain which can absorb the solid particulates suspending in the water, it is easier to form large flocs. It is the most appropriate to use NPAM, when the sewage is acidic. It is better to use NPAM in conjunction with inorganic salts such as inorganic flocculant poly iron and poly aluminum. It is also used as agents for the textile pulp, paper chemicals, water shutoff agent, and etc.
Because of its non-ionic functional group, PH value and salts have a little influence on NPAM’s flocculation. In the neutral or alkaline conditions, the flocculation effect is not as good as APAM, but better than APAM in acidic conditions.
