Plastic structured packing has advantages such as light, high capacity, low pressure drop, large specific surface area, easy replacement, etc. It is widely used in unit operations like rectification, absorption and extraction. The material's heat resistance reaches 100°C for PP and 150°C for PVDF. The packing sheet may be perforated with small holes to increase mass transfer efficiency. If the separation requirement is not high, it needs no perforation to increase sheet stiffness.

Material : PP ,PVC, PVDF, PPR mic.

Types of Plastic Structured Packing:

1.The wire gauze packing is made of wire Knitting which is a mixture of PP and polyaor ylonitrile.  

2. The plastic corrugated platepacking is made of pp or PVDF plate, which can be perforated to increase mass transferring efficiency.

Features:

1.It has large circulation volume,wherein the diameter can be shortened for the design of a new tower and an old tower can be rebuilt to greatly increase the processing capacity.

2.It has high seperating efficency and specific surface area far large than random packing

3.It has low pressure drop,which can greatly save a great deal of energy

Uses:

1.It is appied to distillation and absorption(dielectric absorption)of corrosive mixtures with certain requirements for pressure drop and theoretical plate number

2.It is used for vacuum operation with absolute pressure greater than 100Mpa

3.It is applied to refining halogenated organic compounds.

4.It serves as a heat exchanger,a demister and catalyst carrier etc.

5.Light ceramic corrugated packing reduces the tower load and is applicable to rebuild the interior of large-scale towers.
