Molecular Sieve 13X is the sodium form of the type X crystal and has a much larger pore opening than the type A crystals.  It will adsorb molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 9 Angstrom (0.9 nm) and exclude those larger.
It also has the highest theoretical capacity of the common adsorbents and very good mass transfer rates. It can remove impurities too large to fit into a type A crystal and is commonly used to separate nitrogen from oxygen.

Advantages of molecular sieve 13X:

1)  With uniform pore size and high surface area, thermal stability, high absorption capacity, high strength characteristics.

2) By molecules of different size and shape, select the adsorption, meaning that just absorb less than the pore size of 13X molecular sieve.(never adsorb any molecular larger than 13X)

3)  For smll polar molecules and unsaturated molecules, with selective absorption properties, the greater the polarity, the higher the unsaturation, the selective adsorption is stronger.

4)Has strong water absorption. Even at the higher temperature,Greater airspeed and the lower content of water, still have the relatively high water absorption capacity

Application of molecular sieve 13X:

1.Desiccation and purification of air

2.Removal water and CO2 for in-flow in air-separation equipment

3.H2S and sulphide removal for hydrocarbons and natural gas

4.Catalyst support

Reactivation of molecular sieve 13X:

1.Removal of water: Hot gas at 200-350°C and pressure 0.3-0.5Kg/cm2 flows through the molecular sieve bed for 3-4 h. let temperature decreases down to 110-180°C, cooling
2. Removal of organics: Regeneration is achieved by means of steam treatment to remove organics, and then remove water with method 1

Conservation of molecular sieve 13X:

1.Room temperature, humidity <90%, non-expose to air;

2.Non-contact with water, acid and alkali
