I. HDPE Description
HDPE is used in a variety of applications and industries where excellent impact resistance, high tensile strength, low moisture absorption and chemical and corrosion resistance properties are required.
II. HDPE Characteristics
Advantages:
Ø Resists organic solvents, degreasing agents & electrolytic attack.
Ø Excellent chemical resistance.
Ø Good Fatigue & Wear Resistance
Ø Good electrical insulation
Ø High flexibility (also at low temperature)
Ø The machanical strength of surface hardness , stretching intensity and rigidity is higher than LDPE.
Ø Good protection against stress cracking
Ø Super low water absorption
Ø Low steam permeability
Ø Food safe
Disadvantages:
Ø Poor mechanical properties
Ø Poor ventilation, easy deformation, easyaging, brittle-prone, easy stress cracking,
Ø Low surface hardness, scratch easily.
Ø Difficult to print
Ø Surface is lackluster
Ø HF welding not recommended
Ø Difficult to varnish and glue
Ø Not weather resistant
