1. It is an excellent growth-promoter and improves feed efficiency at very low inclusion levels in feed.
2. It has a strong antibacterial effect under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. It is effective primarily against Gram-positive bacteria such as Clostridium perfringens, which causes necrotic enteritis and growth depression in poultry.
3. There is no cross-resistance between Enramycin premix and other available antibiotics or antibacterials.
4. Resistance to Enramycin premix develops very slowly. Enramycin-resistant Clostridium
perfringens has never been isolated.
5. It is not absorbed from the intestinal tract, which minimizes concern about residues in human food from treated animals.
6. It is stable in the pelleting process and in feeds.
7.It reduces wet dropping in poultry.
8. It depresses ammonia-producing organisms, thereby reducing ammonia
levels in the intestinal contents and blood.
