TITEBONDMASTIC 1

DESCRIPTION

TITEBONDMASTIC 1 is a one-part sealant/adhesive based on synthetic elastomers and non-aggressive solvents towards polystyrene and mirror silvering.

TITEBONDMASTIC 1 has a strong setting after evaporation of solvents and a good water resistance.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

TITEBONDMASTIC 1 is aimed at bonding expanded or extruded polystyrene in slabs or panels, common building insulating materials (mineral wool, polyurethane panels), decorative ceiling roses and cornices, wood or PVC skirtings on most porous and non-porous substrates.

TITEBONDMASTIC 1 enables also bonding of decorative and mosaic mirrors on all common building substrates.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Substrates preparation:

The surfaces must be even, clean, dry, free of grease, dust or anything that could alter contact between adhesive and substrate.

If necessary clean with solution TITEBONDNET 688/1. Suitability between cleaning solvent and substrate has to be tested beforehand.

If necessary rub down the metallic surfaces. Clean after rubbing down.

Let the surfaces dry after cleaning.

Note: when using solvents, turn off all sources of ignition, follow site security rules and instructions for use.

Temperature of adhesive and substrates have to be between 10 and 30℃.

For bonding mirrors on doubtful plaster or crumbly supports, it’s advisable to apply a fixing agent previously. In this case, wait for complete drying before bonding the materials.

Application:

For bonding of insulating materials, the sealant has to spread with a spatula or in beads on the most rigid and smooth surface (wither support or piece to be bonded).

Put the materials into contact with each other to transfer the adhesive, then separate to let the solvents evaporate. Verify if transfer is good.

After 10 min apply in pressing firmly. Bonding is definitive.

For mirror, the sealant has to be applied on the support.

Press the mirror against the support to transfer the adhesive, then pull it off.

Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and apply the mirrors by pressing with a dry and smooth cloth.

Bonding of mirrors on ceiling will be made only with double pasting.

It is possible to adjust positioning of 2 to 3 mm within 5 min after assembling.

Definitive setting will be reached after 48 to72 hours for insulating materials and 7 days for non-absorbing materials (if evaporation of solvents was correct before definitive assembling).

In beads or on the whole surface : 300 to 1,000 g/㎡

12 months between 15 and 25℃in closed original packaging.
