Since they are reactive and stable forms of hydroxylamine, Hydroxylamine sulfate have found application in many branches of industry:

1. Chemical industry: Synthesis of oximes from aldehydes and ketones, of hydroxamic acids from carboxylic acids and their derivatives, of N-hydroxyureas from isocyanates, of amidoximes from nitriles, of hydroxylamine-O-sulfonic acid -a versatile chemical - from oleum or chlorosulfonic acid. Addition reactions at ethylene double bonds.

2. Surface coatings: Production of special oximes for anti-skinning agents.

3. Pharmaceuticals: Production of analgesics, antibiotics, tranquillizers, etc.

4. Rubber: Polymerization controller for synthetic rubber. Antioxidant for natural rubber. Vulcanization accelerator.

5. Textile industry: Auxiliary for treating ice-washed jeans; removal of the manganese dioxide formed. Fixative for textile dyes. Auxiliary in some dyeing processes. Wool bleaching.

6. Metallurgy: Additive in the surface treatment of steel. Metal extraction. Flotation aid for copper ores.

7. Plastics: For terminating polymerization reactions (radical scavenger).

8. Crop protection: Starting product in the manufacture of insecticides, herbicides, and growth regulators.
