This medium-weight, hand-woven and hand-dyed silk is made from Tussah or Wild Silk. It has a slightly textured surface with some luster and some body.
Honan – A pongee-type fabric of the very best Chinese wild silk. Honan is sometimes woven with blue edges. The best grade of wild silk. Very similar to “pongee” but finer. Made from wild silkworms raised in the Honan area of China. Styles: Row (loomstate), Natural (boiled-off), Bleached and dyed. Uses: dresses, ensembles, blouses, lingerie, lampshade, cushion, bags, etc.,
