Glycerin universal couplant, its viscosity and acoustic impedance are ideal for flaw detection and thickness measurement of rough surfaces and high attenuation materials. Its acoustic impedance is very close to the acoustic impedance of plastic, and is closer to the acoustic impedance of metal than other commonly used coupling liquids, so it can make the sound energy spread more effectively between the probe and the measured workpiece. Glycerin couplant is also suitable for high-frequency delay block detection, high-frequency delay block thickness measurement and contact probe test of reference standards.
