Motherwort extract
Taste and Attribution】Bitter, pungent, slightly cold. Inducing the liver, pericardium and bladder meridians.
Functions】 Promoting blood circulation and clearing menstruation, inducing diuresis and relieving swelling.
Indications】 For incontinence of fetal clothing, incomplete dew, dysbiosis, edema and dysuria.
Usage and Dosage】 Horses and cattle 30-60g; sheep and pigs 10-30g; rabbits and poultry 0.5-1.5g.
Note: Use with caution in pregnant animals.

Pharmacological effects of motherwort

1, the effect on cardiovascular system: motherwort has the effect of strengthening the heart, increasing coronary flow and myocardial nutrient blood flow, slowing down the heart rate, counteracting experimental myocardial ischemia and arrhythmia, and reducing the scope of myocardial infarction. The crude extract can dilate blood vessels and has a transient hypotensive effect.

2、Effects on blood rheology: It has inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation, thrombosis and aggregation of red blood cells.

3、Effects on the nervous system: It has inhibitory effects on the central nervous system, prolongs pentobarbital-induced sleep, and excites the respiratory center.

4. Effects on the urinary system: motherwort can improve kidney function, and motherwort base has obvious diuretic effect.

Effects on reproductive system: Motherwort decoction, ethanolic infusion and motherwort alkaloids have obvious excitatory effects on isolated, in vivo, unpregnant, pregnant or postpartum uterus of various animals, causing an increase in frequency, amplitude and tension of uterine contraction. It has certain anti-implantation and anti-pregnancy effects on mice.
