The performance of the charging cable is critical as a bridge connecting the pile and the vehicle. The English name of TPU is thermoplastic polyurethane, which means thermoplastic polyurethane. It has high strength and good wear resistance that other thermoplastic elastomer materials cannot replace. The abrasion resistance and strength of TPU are much better than TPE, but the hand feel is not as good as TPE. At present, the softest hardness of TPU is about 55A or higher. The main features of TPU are: a wide range of hardness, and with the increase of hardness, its products still maintain good elasticity and wear resistance, high mechanical strength, outstanding cold resistance, good processing performance, oil resistance, water resistance, mildew resistance, recyclability it is good. At high hardness, thermoplastic elastomers have greater loss of elasticity than thermoplastic elastomers.


TPE is an abbreviation for Thermoplastic Elastomer, which means Thermoplastic Elastomer. It is a special functional material with plasticity and rubber elasticity. Thermoplastic elastomer TPE has the high elasticity, high strength and high resilience of rubber, and has the characteristics of injection molding, environmental protection, non-toxic safety, wide hardness range, good colorability, soft touch, weather resistance, fatigue resistance and high temperature resistance. Recycle and reduce costs.


When SEBS-based TPE materials are added with a large amount of inorganic flame retardants to improve flame retardancy, they are prone to low strength, easy precipitation, poor resilience, poor weather resistance and fatigue resistance, as well as dripping and smoking during burning. The reduction of these comprehensive properties affects the service life and operation safety of the product, and limits the application of low-smoke halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastic elastomer materials in the field of electronic and electrical connecting lines, especially the materials used in new energy charging pile cables.

At present, at the temperature level of 105 ° C and below, most of the insulation and protection materials of automotive wiring harnesses are made of PVC. PVC materials used in domestic automotive wiring harnesses often have shortcomings such as extruded surfaces and poor low temperature performance. In view of this, combined with the special environment of automobile wiring harness (such as small space, poor environmental heat dissipation, frequent friction, etc.) and special requirements (thin wall, high-speed extrusion, etc.) and cost control requirements, it is necessary to study the PVC material for automobile wiring harness. further improve its performance.
