SKS3 is a kind of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel suitable for making cold mold and plastic mold. The Japanese industrial standard brand is SKS3, Hitachi brand is also known as SKS3 or SGT, datong brand is GOA mold steel. SKS3 die steel has the following characteristics: high toughness, high wear resistance, good hardenability, good heat treatment dimensional stability, good polishing, good weldability, good flame hardening and high frequency quenching performance.

SKS3 is a high hardness air-cooled hardened high chromium tool steel of Japanese standard, according to JIS G4404-2006, corresponding to domestic grade 9CrWMn

SKS3 steel is pure, the softening structure of spheroidizing annealing is easy to be machined, and it has high hardness when quenching. After tempering, it has better dimensional stability. Widely used in making the thickness is not more than 8mm punching die, stamping die, bending die, finishing die; Gauges, measuring tools, woodworking tools and lathe thimbles, etc. Make guide bushing, thimble, die, thread needle, etc.

Factory status: 217HB

Specification for heat treatment of SKS3 die steel:
 
Quenching: preheat to 550℃~650℃ and then heat to 800~850℃ and harden in oil.
 
Backfire: heated to 150℃~200℃, stayed at this temperature, and then quenched and cooled in still air.
 
Hardness :HRC above 60℃
 
Defire: heat to 750~800℃, stay at this temperature for one to three hours, let it gradually cool in the furnace.
 
 
SKS3 die steel features and uses:

● Spheroidizing annealing softening tissue is easy to machining;
 
● High hardness when quenching;
