First, lubrication

When using a linear motion system, good lubrication must be provided. If used without lubrication, the rolling parts will wear faster, which shortens their life.
The lubricant has the following effects:
1. Reduce friction between moving parts, which can prevent burns and reduce wear.
2, the formation of ink on the rolling surface to reduce the stress on the toilet surface and extend the rolling fatigue life.
3. Cover the metal surface with ink to prevent rust.
In order to give full play to the function of the LM Guide, please lubricate according to the conditions of use.
When the installation method is other than horizontal installation, the lubricant may be difficult to transfer to the rolling surface. For the installation method and the position of the nipple and piping joint on the LM block, please call our company for consultation!
In addition, even the LM rolling guide with a gasket, the internal lubricant will gradually leak out during operation. Therefore, the grease should be replenished at appropriate intervals according to the conditions of use.

Second, anti-rust
Determining the material It is necessary for the linear motion system to choose a material that can meet the requirements of the use environment. To be used in environments where corrosion resistance is required, some linear motion systems can use martensitic stainless steel. ,
High-corrosion-resistant LM Guide HSR-M2 using austenitic stainless steel has high corrosion resistance.
Surface treatment The surface of the LM track and slider of the linear motion system is surface treated for rust prevention or aesthetic purposes. THK provides THK-AP treatment, which is the best surface treatment method for linear motion systems. There are roughly 3 types of THK-AP processing methods: AP-HC, AP-C, AP-CF.

Third, dust

If dust and other foreign matter enter the linear motion system, it will cause abnormal wear and shorten the service life. Therefore, foreign matter must be prevented from entering the interior. Therefore, when it is expected that dust or other foreign matter may enter, it is necessary to select a sealing device or a dustproof device that meets the environmental conditions of use.
THK provides dust-protection accessories for LM guide rails according to the model, such as end gaskets made of special synthetic rubber with high abrasion resistance, and side gaskets and internal gaskets that can further improve the dust-proof effect. .
