Product introduction:

Curing agent is an indispensable additive, which should be added to adhesives, coatings and castings. Otherwise, epoxy resin cannot be cured.There are different requirements for epoxy resin, curing agent, modifier, filler and diluent, etc.

Here is a brief summary of their selection methods:

Choice of epoxy resin

1. From the perspective of application: it is better to choose the resin with medium epoxy value (0.25 -- 0.45) when making the adhesive, such as 6101 and 634.It is better to choose the resin with high epoxy value (>, 0.40) for casting, such as 618 and 6101.coating

Generally choose the resin with low epoxy value (<0.25), such as 601, 604, 607, 609, etc.

2. Select from mechanical strength: resin with high epoxy value has high strength, but is brittle;The intensity of epoxy was good at medium high and low temperature.If the epoxy value is low, the strength will be worse at high temperature.Because the strength is related to the crosslinking degree, the high curing crosslinking degree of epoxy is also high, and the low curing crosslinking degree of epoxy is also low, so the difference in strength is caused.

3. Select from the operation requirements: no need of high temperature resistance, little requirement for strength. Hope epoxy resin can dry quickly and not lose easily.If you want to be permeable and strong, you can choose a higher epoxy resin.

Selection of hardener

1. Type of curing agent:

Commonly used curing agents of epoxy resin are fatty amine, lipocycline, aromatic amine, polyamide, acid anhydride, resins and tertiary amine. In addition, under the action of photoinitiator ultraviolet or light can also make epoxy resin curing.Amine curing agents are commonly used at room temperature or low temperature.

(3) the method of use: epoxy resin is rarely used alone, generally add curing agent used in auxiliary materials such as filling material, using tertiary amine compounds as curing agent for resin dosage of 5-15%, commonly use anhydride as curing agent to join resin dosage of 0.1 3%, using multiple amine as curing agent and epoxy resin as 1:1 molar ratio, using 703 as a curing agent can press 1:04 (weight ratio).
