Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy is one type of the atomic emission spectroscopy. It uses high energy, short laser pulse to excite surface and achieve optical breakdown. By analyzing the emitted optical spectrum it obtains both qualitative and quantitative information about the material composition.
