• ​Samarium cobalt magnets (SmCo) currently fall into two families of materials, they are SmCo5 and Sm2Co17
• SmCo5 is usually binary of ternary alloys with the approximate atomic ratio of one samarium atom to five cobalt atoms
• Sm2Co17 is an age hardening type with a composition ratio of 2 samarium atoms to 13-17 atoms of cobalt
• Usually formed by sintering
• Sintered SmCo magnet have the character of brittleness, lacking of the ductility, thus need to be handled carefully
• Withstands corrosion exceptionally well, so no coating is needed for surface protection
• Attributes of samarium cobalt material:
  • Extremely high magnetic properties：Temperature -350 degree centigrade. When working above 180 degree centigrade, its maximum energy product BH and steady temperature are superior than NdFeB magnetic materials.
  • High resistance to demagnetization
  • Excellent corrosion resistance: it is difficult to be eroded and oxidized no coating is needed for the surface protecting.

SmCo Magnet For Generator In Hot Sale 

SmCo is the alternative to Neodymium magnets when a more stable output over a much wider temperature range is required. 

Samarium Cobalt magnets are made by a sintering process and exist in two forms. The first is SmCo5 and this has a maximum energy product of between 14 and 24 MGOe.  

The second, and more common, form is is Sm2Co17 (SmCo 2:17) and this has a maximum energy product of between 22 and 32 MGOe. Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets are slightly weaker than Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets but work over a much wider temperature range (they can work from cryogenic temperatures up to +250 or +300/+350 degrees C; the SmCo26 is rated to +300 degreec C), have superior temperature coefficients and have greater corrosion resistance. We offer 29 grades of sintered SmCo and 7 main grades of bonded SmCo. SmCo26 (a 2:17 variety) is the most commonly used grade.
