Hot work tool steel H21/SKD5/1.2581

Steel grade:   AISI H21, JIS SKD5, DIN 1.2581, GB 3Cr2W8V

Chemical composition(for reference only):

Soft Annealing: Heat to 780-810°C, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell   hardness of 240.  

Stress Relieving: Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 650°C, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.

Hardening: Harden from a temperature of 1080-1160°C followed by air, oil or warm bath quenching. Hardness after quenching is 47-53 HRC.

Charateristics:  

   a. SKD5 Alloy steel is a hot work tool steel with dry hardening,have upper hot intensity and rigidity, under middle  pemperature,

   b. 1.2581 mould steel have good tenacity

   c. Hot tirdness nature and definite wearable empty quench under lower Ao shi ti temperature condition, small    distortion after heat treatment and so on.

Delivered Condition:    hot rolled and forged, annealed, black(ground or peeled )surface

Application:  Die Steel  H21/SKD5/1.2581   is for making punch and die under high temperature and stress without shock load,high temperature thermal cut pieces

• Suitable for making of aluminum, zinc and copper alloy extrusion dies, casting dies and hot shearing blades, etc
• Small silver polish steel (scaled and cold drawn), which is an ideal material for ejection pins and sleeves.
• Also suitable for manufacture of plastic molds of high productiveity and long service life.
