Silicon nitride ceramic balls retain some performance relative to metal materials,such  as:high strength ,hardness,wear-resistant,high rigidity,resistance to corrosion and high temperature,high electric insulation and nonmagnetic/low density and so on. They are suitable for structure materials at elevated temperatures,which have been the primarily choice of ceramic bearing.

The characteristics as follows:

1. High corrosion resistance,which means they can be also used in strong acid/strong alkali and seawater.
2. High temperature resistance.Si3N4 ceramic balls can still retain the strength and hardness even the temperature comes to 1100℃.
3. Electrical insulation、non-magnetic,they can also be used in magnetic field.
4. Si3N4 ceramic balls have a low density of 3.26g/cm3,it is approximately 60% lighter than wheel balls,which extremely decrease the centrifugal force that act on the groove when there is a rotate speed on the deep groove.
5. High rigidity and high strength.Compared with bearing wheel,Si3N4 ceramic is twice higher in hardness and half higher in elastic modulus value.
6. The coefficient of thermal expansion of Si3N4 3.2*10-6/K;it is nearly 25% of the bearing steel,which leads to a good thermal shock resistance of Si3N4 ceramic.
7. The self-lubrication of Si3N4 ceramic ball bearings can help to solve the contamination and inconvenient adding ways that caused by lubricator,it can be used in vacuum and high temperature conditions.
8. High resistance to chemical corrosion,high mechanical strength and low thermal conductivity.
