~Sodium chloride properties
Sodium chloride is an ionic compound with the formula NaCl, representing equal proportions of sodium and chlorine. Sodium chloride is the salt most responsible for the salinity of the ocean and of the extracellular fluid of many multi-cellular organisms. In the form of edible or table salt it is commonly used as a condiment and food preservative. Large quantities of sodium chloride are used in many industrial processes, and it is a major source of sodium and chlorine compounds used as feed-stocks for further chemical syntheses. A second major consumer of sodium chloride is de-icing of roadways in sub-freezing weather.
The main products of basic chemical industry such as hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, soda ash, ammonium chloride, chlorine gas is mainly with industrial salt as raw material. Its appearance is white crystal granula and powder. Easy to soluble in water.
