SZL water-cooled and sealed shop-assembled boiler series with chain grate are collaboratively developed by Xi’an Jiaotong University and our company. While inheriting the mature technologies for SZL shop-assembled boilers with chain grate, major breakthroughs have been achieved in five aspects: water-cooled combustion chamber, design of rear cove, low thermal inertia of the whole boiler, wholly-sealed design with water-cooling membrane and contact side seal for grates. This type of boiler has been granted the patent. 

I. Five technical breakthroughs  

1. The hearth is of the water-cooled combustion chamber. The right and left membrane wall extends to the upper surface of the grate, constituting the water-cooled hearth with the front and rear water-cooled coves, so as to expand the radiant heating surface and improve the capacity and thermal efficiency of boilers. 

2. Innovated design of rear cove. The pipe from the bottom of the lower drum to the headers on both sides forms the rear cove pipe, avoiding the increased height due to the water-cooled cove and saving much space. 

3. Low thermal inertia design. The advanced water-cooled and sealed combustion chamber and the delicate rear cove help to reduce the size of the boiler. The radiant heating surface is increased by over 50%. The light boiler wall reduces the thermal inertia by 70%, improving the capacity and combustion efficiency and rendering the easy adjustment of the boiler load. 

4. The boiler adopts membrane water-cooling wall and fully sealed structure, reducing heat loss and fume emission, improving the thermal efficiency and the working conditions in the boiler room. 

5. The grate uses contact lower sealed structure. The right and left headers are used as anti-clinker box, removing the side sealing iron and rendering the even combustion air.
