Asphalt Grinding Mill Colloid Mill for Emulsified Asphalt and Modified Asphalt

1. Structure and functions

Grinding disc of colloid mill is of unique radial umbrella-shaped six-layer continuous cutting and one-layer grinding structure, combination of both of them realizes polymer hard cutting, grinding and homogenization, and it has low power consumption; 

2. Application

Colloid mill can be used for the production of almost all modified asphalt and emulsified asphalt. The operating temperature (medium) is not less than 220 degree centigrade.

In the production of emulsified asphalt, asphalt will be changed into particles of 2~5um after shear and grinding by colloid mill, and then form emulsified asphalt with water-in-oil or oil-in-water structures by different emulsifier. 

In the production of SBS modified asphalt, large SBS polymer particles will be cut into small particles more soluble. And strong impact force inside the grinding chamber during shear and grinding will accelerate the solvation between light component of asphalt and SBS, finally SBS can be dissolved uniformly in the asphalt, thus improving production efficiency.

Adopting colloid mill method in the production of crumb rubber modified asphalt can achieve the true modification of the asphalt by the crumb rubber. The manufacturer may adopt crumb rubber with lower mesh (or larger particle size), such as crumb rubber of 30~60 mesh, thus reducing the cost of raw materials. Besides, colloid mill method can also improve the stability of crumb rubber modified asphalt, bring down its viscosity, make it suitable for long distance transport and industrialized production.

3. Processing effects and processing materials

Polymer of 20% can be processed to reach the requirements after one-time processing, particle is even and fineness is small (≤20um); 

The colloid mill can produce emulsified SBS/SBR modified asphalt with high specifications (content of SBS/SBR in asphalt is not less than 6%, solid content of emulsified modified asphalt is equal or greater than 75%, content of particles whose size is less than 5um will reach 95%);

6.1 Technical documents

Technical documents being provided for our customers in accordance with the Contract include product qualification certificate, quality certificate, supply list, operation specification of equipment, system installation diagram, equipment maintenance manual and user manual。

6.2 Technical training

We can provide our customers with reasonable and effective technical training according to the characteristics of engineering and equipment, including safe production training and equipment operation training. Training time, address, and number of trainees shall be arranged based on the regulations of the Contract. 

6.3 Quality guarantee

We guarantee that all the equipment provided for our customers can operate properly, and repair all the faulty equipment free of charge during the warranty period of the Contract. When the warranty period expires, our company will be responsible for maintaining all the sold equipment for life, and only charge nominal fee. When the equipment or parts are returned after the maintenance, if the settings of equipment or parts are different form the initial state (such as upgrade or revision), new configuration specification will be attached.

6.4 On-site technical guidance 

We will provide on-site technical guidance during installation, test and commissioning quality inspection for your side. 

6.5 System deb ing

We shall be responsible for pilot production of equipment, testing all the equipment functions in accordance with the requirements of technical specifications, forming written test report, submitting the report to user representatives as acceptance basis.

6.6 Warranty service

Warranty period of the colloid mill is two years or producing 200,000t modified asphalt (the first shall prevail). If the system breaks down during the warranty period, our company will investigate the fault cause and repair it until your demands are met. And we will replace the whole or part of defective components (except easily damaged parts), besides, the warranty period of all the parts replaced during warranty period (except easily damaged parts) will be recalculated from the replacement date.

6.7 Fault response

Our company provide station service of technical staff during equipment commissioning. During the normal operation of the equipment, maintenance center will provide 7*24h technical service.
