The low thermal-conductivity anti-spalling bricks DDR-30, DDR-45 developed by our group are applied in resolving and preheating zones of cement kilns in lieu of KBL-70 and silicon mullite bricks. Based on the compound bricks technic and after continual tests and innovations, the special refractory raw material was artificially synthesized. The new products based on this raw material have a lower density, better thermal expansion and thermal shock stability, better alkali-resistance and lower thermal-conductivity than anti-spalling alumina bricks KBL-70 or silicon mullite bricks, more fitting the large-scale development of cement kilns.
The kiln diameter, the output, the thermal load of kilns and the thermal stress on kiln linings increase in the wake of large-scale development of cement kilns. How to improve the material volume stability in high temperature is a key factor to ensuring the material working life. Compared with anti-spalling alumina bricks KBL-70 and silicon mullite bricks, the low thermal-conductivity anti-spalling bricks DDR-30, DDR-45 have such advantages as low thermal-expansion coefficient, stable volume, little material damage due to the high thermal-stress, low density, low kiln load, low mechanical-stress on kiln linings, low material cost, low power consumption, low thermal-conductivity, low temperature of kiln surface and low thermal-dissipation.
Take the silicon mullite bricks with a density of 2.65g/cm3 and the ø4.8×70m rotary kilns for example. The refractory can decline by13.86 tons per 10m, the kiln load can decline by 13.86 tons, and the material cost can decline by 55 thousand RMB in 4,000RMB/t.
