3. Properties
Zinc stearate is light white fine powder, flammable, autoignition temperature 900 ℃, density of 1.095, melting point 120 ℃, soapy feeling. Insoluble in water, ethanol and ether, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, turpentine and acid. Zinc stearate cooling into jelly after heating dissolve in organic solvents. In acid decomposing into stearic acid and corresponding Zinc salt. Nontoxic, minimally irritant.

5. Usage
Zinc stearate as a stabilizer for PVC. Combined with barium-cadmium SOAP, mainly for soft products, feature is able to inhibit the initial coloring, avoid pollutants. Zinc stearate is used as a plasticizer for thermosetting plastics and polyester such as Polystyrene (polystyrene and ABC, SAN resins), phenolic resins and Amino resins. Also can be used as lubricants and release agents for transparent products. In the rubber industry, it used as lubricants and anti-adherent for rubber, vulcanized activator of vulcanization urge media. Also can be used as a polishing agent for textile, flatting agent for paint and enamel.
