Silicon nitrides (Si3N4) feature an excellent combination of material properties. They are nearly as light as silicon carbide (SiC), but their microstructure gives them excellent thermal shock resistance and their high fracture toughness makes them resistant to impacts and shocks.

Different Types of Silicon Nitride Ceramics
(1)Gas Pressured Sintered Silicon Nitride(GPSN)
GPSN is a family of fully dense materials having a range of compositions that are produced in cost effective, complex net shapes. This grade of silicon nitride has the best combination of properties making it the leading technical ceramic for a number of structural applications.
(2)Hot Pressed Silicon Nitride Ceramics(HPSN)
HPSN is formulated into a variety of compositions having minimal densification aids. These HPSN compositions offer the highest hardness of UNIPRETEC's silicon nitrides. Finished components are machined at precision diamond grinding facility.
