Boric acid, also called boracic acid or orthoboric acid or acidum boricum, is a weak acid often used as an antiseptic, insecticide, flame retardant and a precursor of other chemical compounds. White powder of scaled crystal, feeling greasy, odorless and tasteless, soluble in water, alcohol, glycerol ether and volatile oil, the water solution indicating weak acidity. when heating to 70-100ºC, hydro-extracting gently to change into meta-boric acid; 150-160ºC, as pyro-boric acid:300ºC, as boric anhydride(B2O3).

Glass and glass fiber

Used in the production of optical glass,acid, organic glass, such as glass,glass and boron senior glass fiber, can improve the heat resistance and transparency of glass, and enhanced the mechanical strength,shorten the melting time.

Enamel and ceramic

 Enamel and ceramic industrial used in the production of glaze medicine, can reduce the thermal expansion of glaze, reduce the glaze medicine curing temperature, so as to prevent cracking and take off glaze, the improvement of the product sheen and coptidis thizoma.

Nuclear industry
B-10 isotope is efficient thermal neutron sorbent. So it was indispensable in nuclear power plants and control system. Special level (SQ) boric acid used for the nuclear industry, it can increase the proportion of boron-10.
