Intended Use
TORCH test panels are rapid qualitative lateral flow test designed for the qualitative detection of the following items:
IgM antibodies to
• Toxoplasma gondii (Toxoplasmosis) (TOX);
• Cytomegalovirus (CMV);
• Rubella Virus (RV);
• Herpes Simplex virus I (HSV-1) in human serum/plasma samples;
• Herpes Simplex virus II (HSV-2) in human serum/plasma samples.
Principles of the Test
One-step rapid tests are based on sandwich immunoassay system and the immunochromatographic detection assay. If TORCH antibodies are present in the samples with a concentration above the cut off level, a labeled antibody-dye complex will be formed. This complex is then captured by antigen immobilized in the Test Zone (T line) of the membrane, producing a visible pink-rose color band on the membrane. The color intensity will depend on the concentration of TORCH antibody in the samples.
After comparing tests with clinic specimens, compared with Elisa kits, the Sensitivity of this test panel is 95.2%, and the specificity 96%.
