Hinge type expansion joint is a joint that absorbs angular rotation of single plane. As thrust due to internal pressure, weight of the joint itself and external force are fully supported by the hinge pin and the hinge arm, only the forced required for bending the bellows acts on the anchor. It is effective for piping where anchors on the top of tower or those around an apparatus can not be accommodated completely. By combining 2 or 3 Hinge type expansion joint, the amount of elonggation of the pipe can be absorbed by one or continuous operation of displacement in the lateral deflection and angular rotation.
