Definition of Activity:

      One ENOLZYME^TM Mannanase unit(U) is defined as the amount of enzyme which liberates 1μmole reducing sugar per minute from 3mg/mL mannan at 37.0°C and at pH 5.5 under the condition of the test.

Functions:

1. In the feed industry, adding β-mannanase can break down the β-D-mannan in the soybean, grains and its by-products. It can decrease the viscosity of intestinal contents; destroy the structure of cell wall and make nutrients fully contact with digestive enzymes; increase the activity of endogenous enzymes (such as amylase, trypsin, lipase, etc); improve the intestinal microflora and increase the integrity of intestinal mucosa; increase the utilization rate of feed, promoting the growth of livestock and decreasing the environmental pollution.

2. In the food industry, β-mannanase can improve the digestion and absorption of nutrients, promoting the digestion and increasing the immunity.

3. In the paper making industry, β-mannanase and β-xylanase etc hemicellulase can jointly act on the pulp bleaching and waster paper deinking process. It can improve the bleaching effect and paper industry.

4. In the textile industry, β-mannanase can effectively remove the extra stains sticked on the products. It can decrease the energy consumption and environmental pollution.
