Our quest for an alternative growing medium to peat moss began in 1980.

As a horticultural company with "hands on" experience in growing export oriented crops under coconut, and the enterprising novel ideas of our late Chairman Mr. Wilhelm Balthazaar, the word COCOPEAT came to life.

Mr. Balthazaar who was a coconut plantation owner / manager for over 50 years, pioneered the use of coir based substrate as a substitute for peat commonly known as COCOPEAT which has stood testament on its own accord for almost three decades.

The entrepreneural spirit was passed down to three generations and many new ideas have been been converted into products that have taken the horticultural world by storm.

With one of the laregest, state-of-the-art production facilities located in the hub of the COCONUT TRIANGLE of Sri Lanka, we do not rest on our laurels and constantly upgrade our production facility, quality assurance systems and range of products.

As a policy, we work very closely with end users of our products and constantly review our products to cater to ever increasing technology and growing needs.
