   • Metal-on-Polyethylene (MoP): The femoral head articulates against a polyethylene liner in the acetabular cup. This combination is widely used and has a long track record of success.

   • Ceramic-on-Polyethylene (CoP) or Ceramic-on-Ceramic (CoC): These combinations provide low friction and wear characteristics and are often preferred for younger, more active patients.

4. Surgical Approach: THR surgery can be performed through various surgical approaches, including posterior, anterior, lateral, or anterolateral approaches. 

5. Cemented or Cementless Fixation: THR Systems may be designed for either cemented or cementless fixation. In the cemented technique, bone cement is used to secure the components to the bone. In the cementless technique, the implant is designed to integrate directly with the bone through a process called osseointegration.

6. Modularity: Some THR Systems offer modular components, allowing surgeons to choose different sizes and options for a more customized fit.
