Limestone is one of major raw material for cement production.The limestone most suitable for cement production must have some ingredients in specified quantities i.e., calcium carbonates, silica, alumina, iron, etc.The quarrying operations are done by the cement producer using the open cast mining process.The quarried limestone is normally in the form of big boulders, ranging from a few inches to meters in size. These varying sizes of limestone need to be crushed to a size of about 10 mm in order to be prepared for finish-grinding.

Limestone grinding mill
After crushing, the size of limestone is suitable for finish-grinding.The feed material is fed pneumatically through a venturieductor into the mill. The particles are pulverized by a high speed agitated grinding media. The grinding media can be stainless steel, chrome steel, alumina or zirconia. The micronized particles are entrained in the air stream and exit the mill in a high efficiency air classifier. The on size particles are separated and the oversize returned to the mill for regrinding.According to the fine grinding of materials and discharging materials fineness, grinding millscan be divided into Raymond mill powder machine, high pressure powder mill, ball mill, MTW trapezium grinding milland vertical roller mill.
