Product Description

Anodized Aluminum Expanded Metal Mesh – Requirements of Mesh Design for Roof Mesh Panels and Wall Panels Cladding, with Detailed Anodizing Technical Requirements Applied for this special Expanded Metal Cladding Panel.

3 mm natural anodized Aluminum expanded metal mesh

Aluminum alloy standard material is 1050.

Specified anodizing film thickness 25 micron (warranted for 25 years) .

General Requirements follow:

Ø Roof mesh with approximate panel sizes 1250mmX3110mm in two pcs, and panels are shaped. The Shaped panels mean the panels not rectangular, some of them are triangles and others are almost rectangular but corners degree are 88 to 92 not 90 to 90.

Specified mesh pattern design for Roof Mesh Panels:

§ LWD= 120 mm

§ Strand Width= 15 mm

§ Inclination degree= 67°

Mesh pattern For Wall Mesh Panels:

§ LWD= 60 mm

§ Strand Width= 5 mm

§ Inclination degree= 67°

Physical test for roof panels of size 1250X1500mm is required to check the performance loading.

General: Specifications for mesh, frame, anodizing and as per the approximate quantities for standard and nonstandard panels.

Supplied Forms:

Aluminum Expanded Metal Mesh (cut to size) and frame (cut to size)-including anodizing.

Aluminum Expanded mesh (cut to size) and frame (cut to size)-without anodizing.

Aluminum expanded mesh (cut to size) WITHOUT frame (cut to size)-including anodizing.

Expanded aluminum mesh (cut to size) WITHOUT frame (cut to size)-without anodizing.

Standard expanded mesh sheet of sheets sizes available.

ANODISING of Aluminum Expanded Metal Mesh:

Aluminum anodizing shall comply with BS 3987, unless specified otherwise.

The color anodising process for the aluminum sheet metals:

Coloring of the anodic film shall be achieved by use of a two-stage electrolytic process utilizing cobalt or nickel as the coloring metal or by use of a single stage integral process. On no account.

shall anodic films coloured by the use of tin electrolytes be used. Any proposal by the

Contractor for the use of an alternative coloring technique can only be considered if the

anodiser confirms in writing that the alternative process will meet all of the visual, physical

and documentary requirements detailed within the Specification. Satisfactory independent

evidence and samples will be required to prove that an alternative colouring process will

provide an equal or superior standard of performance and life expectancy.

Colour control limits shall be submitted as samples.

All aluminium alloys used for anoidizing or expanding of the metal mesh shall be selected to ensure that the finished visual appearance of all components is identical.

Details as following:

i) The aluminum alloy for extrusions shall be grade 6063, or acceptable equivalent, and for sheet material grade J57S, or acceptable equivalent, and a certificate shall be obtained from

the material supplier stating the grade of material supplied.

ii) For expanded metal lath grade shall be 151EX, or acceptable equivalent, and a certificate shall be obtained from the material supplier stating the grade of material supplied.

e) Base metal batching shall be controlled in order that areas match. Critical visible areas shall

be from a single batch. Agree base metal batching with the Client’s Representative in advance of production.

f) Sample of base metal shall be submitted to the Client’s Representative for acceptance prior

to annodising.

Expanded Metal Anodising Workmanship

a) Anodic oxidation coating shall be carried out at a single place of manufacture. All critical

visible areas shall be anodised in a single batch.

b) Anodising shall commence after fabrication/machining is complete wherever possible.

c) Any fabrication of pre-finished lengths shall be previously agreed with the Client’s

Representative. Uncoated edges shall not be visible in assemblies or exposed to the

atmosphere. Fabricated pieces shall meet the thickness requirements of BS 3987.

d) The processes adopted shall be compatible, offering weather resistance, abrasion

resistance, impact resistance and protection against chemical attacks as follows:

i) Corrosion resistance shall be equal to or greater than that of an anodised aluminium

finish thickness of minimum average 25 microns and sealing in accordance with BS

3987 and the Specification.

ii) For production control the abrasion resistance of the anodising shall be determined in

accordance with BS 6161: Part 18. Films, which when tested by this method continue

to be scratched by glass coated abrasive paper do not conform to the Specification. In

the event of a dispute, the referee test described in BS EN 12373: Part 9 shall be

carried out on test pieces cut from eight components whose results from the abrasive

paper test indicate that they have suspect low abrasion resistance. The wear index

obtained from the referee test shall be no greater than 1.4, for acceptance.
