| Release the metal strap holding the lid and open the Solar Sun Jar. Push the switch to the ON position and close and seal the lid. Place either outside or on a window ledge so that the solar panel can gather ambient light to charge the internal rechargeable battery (included). The battery will not charge in false light, e.g. Fluorescent light. 5-6 hours charging will keep the lamp lit for up to 8 hours. As light is different at various times of the year, charging times may vary. |

There is a light sensor in the solar panel. When the switch is ON, the jar will sense the light and will turn on and off automatically at dusk and dawn. When you do not want it to light up to save energy, please open the lid and turn the switch “OFF”. When you use it next time, please turn the switch “ON” again. Under certain types of light the sensor can sometimes not work properly, e.g. under fluorescent lighting. The sensor is designed to work in natural lighting conditions.
