1. Product introduction          

Spherical activated carbons physical structure is containing a layer of spherical shell at least, which is made of activated carbon. In the interior of spherical shell has kernel body, it is made of inorganic material. The spherical shell diameter can achieve 10mm, spherical shell thickness is not less than 0.5mm and the best is 1-1.5mm. Because the kernel body of the utility and new type spherical activated carbon is made of inorganic material, which is different from the spherical shell material. The specific surface area of the activated carbon can achieve 500-1000m/g to make the activated carbon constituent material give full play to the functions. The product is especially suitable for fixed bed gas processing equipment of high activated carbon stack layer within bed.

3.  The application of spherical activated carbon

Spherical activated carbon not only has the adsorption property owned by activated carbon, but also has many other characteristics.

Spherical activated carbon uses the production method of asphalt as raw material, the product performance is stable. The most obvious feature of the SAC is using high quality asphalt, the spheroidizing process does not use binde. And it is produced by activation and keeping homogeneous without melting in the flow condition.

According to average diameter, BAC divides into 4 kinds.

(1)  0.2mm-0.4mm

(2)  0.4mm-0.6mm

(3)  0.6mm-0.9mm

(4)  0.9mm and above 0.9mm

4. The usage of spherical activated carbon

(1) Solvent recovery

There are all kinds of organic solvent in industry. When the good products are produced, some of the organic is exhausted into the atmosphere, which forms pollution and causes profound social problems. So a petrochemical engineering company in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Japan</st1:country-region> used activated carbon to develop solvent recovery equipment. In the industries of electrical equipment, chemical, auto industry, pharmaceuticals industry and etc. at home and abroad, and more than 400 equipments were built. The equipment has the advantages of energy conservation, without drainage solvent recovery, deodorization, and it has gained nice judgement from consumers.

(2) Gas-processing of filtering equipment

Because spherical activated carbon has the advantages of high purity, low ash, spherical, low pressure loss and the powerful purification property. The activated carbon has been used in the fields of the adsorption material of clean room strainer in the semiconductor industry, gassing of electron device, adsorption material of vehicle interior environment purification and etc.

(3) Water treatment

Activated carbon is a branch of water treatment, as in recent years, water pollution and the relevant management measures are strengthened, the demand of activated carbon is increasing. In the activated carbon adsorption treatment, fluidized bed has the excellent decontamination efficiency. The water treatment plants use spherical activated carbon as the adsorbent in the fluidized bed, and they have played more than 10 years effects. Because of high purity, low dust, abrasion resistance, the spherical activated carbon also is used in the water purifiers and drainage treatment equipment.
