Titanium is a lustrous, white metal when pure. It has a low density, good toughness, durability, high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistance and biological compatibility. Titanium can be alloyed with iron, aluminium, vanadium, molybdenum, among other elements, to produce strong lightweight alloys.
