Anbydrous Borax is also known as sodium tetraborate. Its appearance is white crystallization or colorless glassy crystal. Anbydrous Borax has strong hygroscopicity, which is water-soluble, glycerol-soluble; and it also can be gradually dissolved in methanol. The concentration of these solutions are 13-16%; and its aqueous solution is alkalescent, which can not be dissolved in alcohol. Anbydrous Borax is the anbydrous material which derives from heating borax up to 350-400℃. Anbydrous Borax will become borax decahydrate or borax pentahydrate when it gets hygroscopicity in air.
