Reactive Acrylic Adhesive

The two-part low-odor acrylic adhesive is friendly to environment. The two-part acrylic adhesive, whose curing properties do not change much even if the mixing ratio and mixing status vary, has the user friendliness close to one-part adhesive.

3:

3000 Series

Mainly composed of alkyl-alpha-cyanoactylate, instantaneous adhesive is polymerized and cured by a small amount of moisture sucked on the surface of the adherend in a very short time (in several seconds).

Features

  1. Quick curing
    The instantaneous adhesive features the highest curing speed of all adhesives; curing is achieved in several seconds at a normal temperature.
  2. Excellent adhesion
    The instantaneous adhesive adheres to a great variety of adherends, providing powerful adhesion comparable to that of epoxy adhesive.
  3. Simple adhesion
    It is a one-part adhesive which does not require the use of hardener or catalyst. Furthermore, adhesion is completed by one drop of coating and gentle fixation.
  4. Solventless adhesive
    The instantaneous adhesive exhibits little curing shrinkage. It does not involve contamination of the work site environment due to organic solvent, as in the case of a rubber adhesive.

Test conditions

  1. T-formed peeling strength is 50mm/min. in conformity to JIS K6854.
  2. After being degreased with acetone and toluene at the mixing ratio of 1 to 1, each test piece is cured at the normal temperature for 48 hours; then it is measured.

Emulsion Adhesive

Emulsion adhesive is formed by the emulsification and polymerization of acetic vinyl, EVA and acrylic resin in water. Since organic solvent is not generally used, it is not flammable, and it is not toxic; it is a relatively safe adhesive. It is mainly used for porous materials.

Features

  1. The emulsion adhesive is generally solventless type adhesive that contains no organic solvent agent.
  2. The emulsion adhesive allows extensive range of work from coating with brush to coating with machine.
  3. The emulsion adhesive has better initial adhesive property than other aqueous adhesive.
  4. The emulsion adhesive is relatively inexpensive.

Brief Advice

Pressing
Many types of emulsion adhesives contain less resin solid. Adhesiveness is ensured by "anchoring effect" where the resin permeates the gap of the adherend to be hardened in the form of wedges. Therefore, insufficient pressing force will cause defective holes on the adhesion surface and insufficient permeation, resulting in substantial reduction in the bonding strength. Sufficient consideration must be given to determine the amount of coating, pressing force and pressing time.
