Chopped strand mat is a non-woven E-or C-glassfiber mat product manufactuted by spreading continous filament rovings of 50mm in length randomly and uniformly in combination with polyester binder in powder form (or other binder in emulsion form). This products is characterized by good combination of resin, easy operation,good wet strength retension,good laminate transparency and low cost.It is suitable for the applications by hand lay-up FRP mouldings, such as: various sheets and panels, boat hulls, bath tubs, cooling towers, corrosion resistant, vehicles etc.
Continuous strand mat is a new fiberglass reinforcement product. The mat is made from continuous fiberglass strands randomly looped and bonded together with a small amount of binder. Continuous strand mat is used in many FRP structural applications such as pultrusion, filament winding and several fiberglass molding processes (RTM, etc.). Finished molded products have high equiaxial strengths. Typical products are marine railing, window frames, boat parts, dry cased high voltage transformers and corrosion resistant pipes.
Furthermore, this product can be combined with woven roving to make combination mat that has superior processability and structural properties. This mat can also be used in multi-layer composite products.
Surface mat is made by wet process，it has the charateristics such as flat surface, even fiber distribution, good hand,rapid resin impregnation speed and good drape.It is suitable for any flat and curved surface products made by hand lay-up process. The mat can reinforce the gel coat, improve product surface quality, ensuring weather resistance, anti-aging and corrosion resistance to products.
