The AMM VS printer/cutter line combines 20 years of innovation and expertise into one device, including integrated printing and contour cutting capabilities, next generation print head technology and accelerated print speeds. Available in three sizes and ink configurations, the VS series is also capable of printing white text, floods and hundreds of brilliant metallic colors for premium graphics and wraps. Affordably priced, the AMM VS digital printing equipment is both an exceptional value and a uniquely versatile production tool.
Automated Ink Circulation System
Unlike other digital printing equipment, the VS series of wide-format printers come standard with Roland’s automated Ink Circulation System to prevent the pigments in metallic silver and white inks from settling. Designed to reduce waste of white and metallic silver ink, the circulation system dramatically lowers running costs while ensuring exceptional image quality throughout the longest production runs.
Two Print Modes for Metallic Effects
Choose from Blended and Layered print modes to optimize metallic images. Blended mode prints CMYKLcLm and metallic silver ink together for more natural metallic colors, while Layered mode prints metallic silver first, followed by CMYKLcLm in one pass to add richness to metallic effects.
VersaWorks™ RIP Software
Developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters, VersaWorks RIP softwaretakes full advantage of the VS Series capabilities. Based on the latest Adobe® CPSI 3019 engine, VersaWorks includes advanced error diffusion and 16-bit rendering for exceptional production output and unmatched ease-of-use, and is fully compatible with Windows® 7, Vista and XP.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system, which accurately reproduces more than 1,000 standard colors and 512 metallic colors. Preset print options include a High-speed mode for production banner printing, the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics, and Artistic mode for exceptional indoor graphics. This advanced RIP also automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so you can accurately monitor time and costs. Quadralign™
For laminated graphics, our Quadralign four-point optical registration system allows users to remove prints, laminate and simply reload them for precision cutting. Quadralign automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VS also functions as a stand-alone vinyl cutter.

Roland Intelligent Pass Control Technology®
This system precisely controls dot placement between passes, allowing the AMM VS series to produce smooth gradations and flawless solid colors, while achieving faster throughput with virtually no banding in all print modes. This technology increases productivity by delivering the same print quality at higher speeds.
Advanced Eight-Channel Print Head Technology
The VS series incorporates the latest in variable droplet inkjet printing technology. The new eight-channel Piezo inkjet print head contains 180 nozzles per channel in a gold-plated housing to reduce static and prevent clogging. With seven different droplet sizes available, the VS series achieves remarkably smooth gradations and richer density for photographic and high-resolution vector output. A new head protection plate and recessed print head prevent head strikes from rippling media.
Print Speeds
With print speeds of up to 248.6 sq. ft. per hour for CMYK applications (VS-640) and print/cut capability, the AMM VS further expedites the production cycle by allowing you to print and contour cut your designs together – even unattended – in one easy step.
Advanced Media Handling
A true production printer, VS digital printing technology features an advanced media handling system allowing users to feed rolls up to 88 pounds for the VS-640, 66 pounds for the 540 and 55 pounds for the 300. Upgraded media flanges and seven pinch rollers secure the heaviest media in place, providing accurate feeding and tracking throughout the longest of production runs. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate variable media thicknesses.
Integrated Heating System
Roland printers are designed to dry prints quickly even in high-speed modes for immediate finishing, installation or collection by the take-up system. VS series wide format printers feature a built-in, two-stage integrated heater system that accommodates a wide range of media options. This advanced system precisely controls the proper amount of heat for each application, yielding outstanding results every time. For maximum convenience, users can store individual settings right in the printer.
High-Speed Network Connection
Equipped with Roland’s own 100 Base-TX/10 Base-T interface, VS series connects seamlessly to office networks without additional software, achieving an increased data transmission rate of 100 Mb/sec. This makes it easy to configure a highly efficient printing environment.
Eco-SOL Media
Eco-SOL Media is developed especially for Roland Eco-SOL MAX ink and includes a wide selection of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive-backed vinyls and other popular substrates. The line-up currently consists of glossy, matte, clear and translucent calendered, premium cast vinyl, premium reflective vinyl, view-through vinyl, flame retardant scrim banner, blockout scrim banner and solvent glossy paper. All Roland media is carefully tested and profiled to consistently achieve high-quality results.
