Toxicity 

Acute toxicity: 

LD50 Oral rat: >5000mg/kg

LD50 dermal rat :>2000mg/kg

LC50 Inhalation rat: >4.67mg/l 

Chronic toxicity: Azoxystrobin is non-oncogenic in the rat. Based on a study which administered 

azoxystrobin in the diets of rats the following values were recorded: male rat 3.6 mg/kg/day, 

female rat 3.6 mg/kg/day at 60 ppm diet; male rat 18.2 mg/kg/day, female rat 22.3 mg/kg/day

 at 300 ppm diet; male rat 82.4 mg/kg/day, female rat 117.6 mg/kg/day 

at 1500/750 ppm diet, respectively. 

Mode of action

Azoxystrobin is a systemic fungicide. It is absorbed through 

the roots and translocated in the xylem to the stems and leaves, or through leaf surfaces to the

leaf tips and growing edges. The mode of action is by inhibition of mitochondrial respiration in fungi. 

It inhibits spore germination, mycelial growth, and spore production of fungi. Azoxystrobin is 

active at very low doses against a wide range of fungal pathogens.

Uses:

Fungicide with protectant, curative, eradicant, translaminar and systemic properties. Inhibits spore 

germination and mycelial growth, and also shows antisporulant activity.  Controls the following 

pathogens at application rates between 100 to 375 g/ha: Erysiphe graminis, Puccinia spp., 

Leptosphaeria nodorum, Septoria tritici and Pyrenophora teres on temperate cereals; Pyricularia 

oryzae and Rhizoctonia solani on rice; Plasmopara viticola and Uncinula necator on vines; Sphaerotheca 

fuliginea and Pseudoperonospora cubensis on cucurbitaceae; Phytophthora infestans and Alternaria solani 

on potato and tomato; Mycosphaerella arachidis, Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotium rolfsii on peanut; 

Monilinia spp. and Cladosporium carpophilum on peach; Pythium spp. and Rhizoctonia solani on turf; 

Mycosphaerella spp. on banana; Cladosporium caryigenum on pecan; Elsino?fawcettii, Colletotrichum spp. and Guignardia citricarpa on citrus; Colletotrichum spp. and Hemileia 

vastatrix on coffee.
