ZB-IIIwith the chemical formula 2ZnO·3B2O3 is a dehydrated zinc borate with multifunctionalfire retardant applications in a variety of polymers. Since it contains nowater of hydration, it is stable up to 600°C to be used in polymer systemsrequiring very high processing temperatures as a flame retardant and smokesuppressant, such as Polyetherketone, Polysulfone, Fluoropolymer, Polyester andNylon. ZB-II should be stored in a sealed container because of its tendency togradually absorb surface moisture.
