Externally Pressurized Axial Expansion Joint (HHBW)

An externally pressurized expansion joint is consisting of one bellows, two weld ends, a cover outside the bellow element and other components. It absorbs large amount of axial movements (a little lateral movements and angular movements ), caused by thermal expansion or contraction of a pipeline; Duct; Or vessel, and with weld ends or flanges ends.

Externally pressurized expansion joints, also known as x-flex expansion joints, are suited for piping systems that require large amounts of axial compression or extension. In externally pressurized expansion joints, the bellows elements are arranged so that the media flow is on the external surface of the bellows. Externally pressurizing the bellows eliminates pressure instability as a limitation to the design and permits the absorption of large amounts of axial expansion.
