Description and Applications
Fast Dissolving Guar (FDG) is an excellent guar gum powder that features fast dissolving, high viscosity, super fineness, easy dispersion and low residues. It is specifically developed and designed for drilling and fracturing of oil, natural gas, shale gas, CBM, oil shale and tight sandstone gas and oil sand etc. It has outstanding solubility and viscosity development efficiency.
The viscosity of FDG-based frac fluid can be easily reduced by using enzyme or oxidants. The degree of viscosity reduction depends on (i) type and concentration of degradants; (ii) time; (iii) temperature. Viscosity reduction will cause the fractures to be narrow but extend to far distance from the borehole, increasing the production rate of the oil/gas well.

Viscosity test method: Prepare 2% KCl solution 250g, add 1.2g FDG, use high speed agitator to stir for 2.5 minutes at 1500rpm, then measure the viscosity at 25℃ by using FANN-35 viscometer, spindle #3, reading at 300rpm. |
