Properties:
(1) Gray white powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in concentrated chlorhydric acid, not soluble in alcohol, ethyl ether.
(2) Appearance changing to red color when oxidized in air likes aromatic sulphonic acid and aromatic amine.
Application: used as intermediate for manufacturing reactive dyestuffs.
