Portable hardness tester NOVOTEST T-D2 is designed for rapid non-destructive testing of hardness:
- metals and alloys on standardized CIS hardness scales: Rockwell (HRC), Brinell (HB), Vickers (HV);
- metals with different properties from steel (for example, non-ferrous metals, alloys, cast iron, etc.) with five additional scales for calibration;
- use of the scale of tensile strength (Rm) for determining the tensile strength of carbon steel products pearlitic by automatically converting from the scale of hardness Brinell (HB);
Implements method bounce (the method of Leeb).

Restrictions on the use of dynamic hardness tester NOVOTEST T-D2
Measurement items weighing less than 3 kg and a thickness of less than 12 mm is possible only when the following conditions:
- product must be kept tightly stoppered to the surface of the base plate weighing not less than 5 kg.
In the measurement of magnetic steels error may increase because of the influence of a magnetic field have on the reading speed of the striker inside the coil.
