The wait is finally over! Nokia N97 is finally here in the market. The expectation was high as the specifications of the phone before its arrival was something to die for. The specification mentioned Nokia N97 will be equipped with 3.5-inch touch screen, 5 mega pixel camera, triband HSPA, WiFi and Bluetooth, standard storage of 32GB, hardware keyboard and lot more. With all those feature, the N97 really seem to be a fully loaded smart phone.
Let's check out what actually it has to offer. The N97 promises to bring high end connectivity. The browsing speed is fast and the 3G signal is really worth it. For 3G network it uses HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100 while in case of 2G network N97 relies on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Apart from connectivity, the data transfer facilities are also immaculate. Nokia N97 supports Class 32 GPRS and Class 32 EDGE along with HSCSD. Other data transfer modes in the device are Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, v2.0 microUSB and WLAN with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology. Infrared is not available in Nokia N97.
The camera feature of Nokia N97 is really hi-fi. Its immaculate 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 2592x1944 pixels can capture really unbelievable clear shots. The LED flash, auto focus and video light technologies in the device ensure great quality picture in any light conditions. The mobile phone also offers geo tagging, which saves the location where the image is taken using the camera. This is great tool to make good memories. The mobile also features video recording facility and the captured or stored videos can be viewed in standard 640 x 480 VGA resolution. Videos can be enjoyed in wide screen 640 x 360 in order to match the letterbox display of the phone.
Nokia N97 is quite hard to hold for long time as you're faced with a QWERTY keyboard either way. However, the keyboard is spaced well but the utilization is not up to the mark. The rubber keys are hard and uncomfortable. The D-pad is not impressive either. Nokia made certain compromises to bring out that slider effect but the t-mobile-sidekick and htc-touch-pro2 is definitely better in this aspect.
Nokia N97 features Li-Ion 1500 mAh standard battery that can give talk time up to 9 h 30 min for 2G network and up to 6h for 3G network.
