Wireless Pet Fence User’s Manual
The YF-105 Instant Fence( also known as Wireless Pet Fence) is a revolutionary new concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Just place the portable transmitter anywhere you like (e.g. at home, in the garden, in a car, hanging it on neck or on waist, or putting it in your handbag, etc.), and it emits a radio signal around the area. Your pet wears a lightweight receiver collar which listens for the signal. While it's receiving the signal, your dog is free to run and play. When the collar approaches the boundary of the signal area, it gives your dog a warning beep first. If your dog continues closer to the boundary, the system will issue a mild shock. If your dog continues further, the system will issue stronger shocks until your dog returns to the within the boundary. The static shocks are startling but they are not harmful to your pet. With a little training that is simple and quick, your pet quickly learns his boundaries. Setting the boundaries of your yard takes only a few minutes!
YF-105 Wireless Pet Fence is small, compact and completely portable. You can take it and your pet wherever you go. You can also hang it on your neck or on your waist or put it in your handbag when you are walking your dog. No need for a leash and your dog will stay in the set boundaries. So your pet is safe and your mind is at ease.
YF-105 Wireless Pet Fence Features:
- Wireless: Instant to use, no installation required;
- Portable: Can be used at home or in the garden, or while travelling;
- Safe and secure: Provides a safe zone for your pet;
- Also suitable for walking dogs: take it with you when walking dogs, no more need for any leashes!
- Waterproof receiver collar;
- High-energy lithium battery already installed inside transmitter and it can last for up to 3 years or over. No need to replace transmitter frequently and no need for any plugs;
- Transmitter range up to 30 meters in open fields. Distance can be reduced if there are any obstacles like metal objects or when receiver battery is low.
Operating Guide
- To insert receiver battery: Use the metal coin (included) to unscrew (anti-clockwise) the metal cover of battery compartment. Install a 6 volt battery between the “metal cover” and “spring” contacts. Note that “spring” contact is for the negative end and “metal cover” contact is for the positive end as shown below. Screw back the metal cover (clockwise) tightly and make sure it is completely closed. (Important: Do not install the battery when the receiver collar is on your pet!)
- ID Matching: After installing battery, the indicator light on the receiver collar will light up. Then press the On/Off button on the transmitter once and quickly release it. After 3 seconds, the indicator light on the transmitter will flash for 3 times and then turn off. The matching process is now completed. No more ID matching needed in the future even you have to change receiver battery.
- To switch it on: Press the On/Off button on the transmitter once and quickly release it. After 3 seconds, the indicator light on the transmitter will flash for 3 times and then turn off. The transmitter is now switched on and both transmitter and receiver are in normal working mode. The indicator light on the receiver will also blink regularly.
- To put the receiver collar on your dog: Place the unit around your dog`s neck and adjust the collar length using the slide buckle arrangement provides with the strap. The unit should fit snugly underneath your dog`s neck. Make sure that the electrodes are in direct contact with your dog`s skin. Hair between the electrodes and skin will severely diminish the shock effect. If necessary, it is advisable to clip or shave your dog`s fur under the neck to ensure direct contact.
- To switch it off: The system can be switched off at least 3 minutes after being switching on. Press the On/Off button on the transmitter once and quickly release it. After 2 seconds, the indicator light on the transmitter will light up for 5 seconds and then turn off. (Make sure the receiver can receive signals when doing this.) Both the transmitter and receiver exit working mode.
- After replacing receiver battery: The receiver will start working when it lights up for 20 seconds after replacing new battery.
Caution Notes:
- Do not allow your dog to chew the collar receiver. You should also attempt to minimize scratching or clawing at the casing.
- This system is made up of plastic and electronic components that are not digestible. Consult your veterinarian if your dog swallows any part of this product.
- The receiver collar is NOT intended for use as a restraining collar. If you are using a leash use it with a separate restraining type of collar.
- We do not recommend using any electronic training devices on aggressive pets. If you are unsure if your dog is aggressive, please consult your veterinarian or a certified trainer.
- Battery life depends on how frequently your pet tests the Boundary Zone.
- Check your pet’s neck daily for irritation from the contact points. Check the contact points on the receiver collar weekly to make sure they are tight and clean. Check the fit of the receiver collar weekly.
- If your pet’s neck becomes red and irritated, which is due to the contact points irritating the skin, discontinue use of the receiver collar for a few days. If condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian. Once the skin returns to normal, replace the receiver collar and monitor the skin condition closely.
- To test whether the receiver is working, take the receiver collar off your pet and walk into the Boundary Zone. The receiver collar should beep. If not, replace the battery.
